The Board of Directors of the Japan Association for Migration Policy Studies has issued the following statement.

The Board of Directors of the Japan Association for Migration Policy Studies (JAMPS) supports the Request of the General Assembly of the Science Council of Japan, dated October 2, 2020. Based on the premise of respect for human rights and peace, respect for research from diverse perspectives, and the guarantee of academic freedom, we call on Prime Minister Suga to disclose the specific reasons for rejecting the six nominees for membership and to appoint the six members promptly.

〈Notice from the Editorial Committee〉

　From the next issue of the Journal, Vol.10, the new provision for the submission of articles will be applied regarding article 2. The underlined part has been added.

2．Only previously unpublished articles will be considered for publication in the Journal.
If a manuscript is based on the author’s prior work such as a discussion paper, the author must notify the Editorial Committee about it, in writing, at the time of submission.

〈Announcement on the amendments to guidelines for authors〉

We have updated author guidelines for our journal Migration Policy Review (Iminseisaku Kenkyu). Revisions have been made to “Writing Guidelines for Authors,” “Provisions for the Submission of Articles,” and “Provisions for the Refereeing of Articles.” Major changes are as follows: (1) the closing date for the submission of manuscripts will move forward from September 30 to September 15; and (2) each manuscript will be evaluated by two referees rather than three. For detailed information, please refer to the guideline section at the end of Migration Policy Review Vol. 8.

The schedule and venue of upcoming JAMPS conferences have been confirmed as follows:
2014 Winter Conference: Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Osaka University
2015 Spring Conference: Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Waseda University

2015 Annual Conference: Saturday, May 30 – Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Daito Bunka University

Although it was announced at the JAMPS General Assembly held on May 10, 2014 that the 2015 Annual Conference would take place on May 24 – 25, 2015, due to unavoidable circumstances, the schedule has been revised to May 30 – 31, 2015.
